Is Trinidad Safe News: Girl, 10, Snatched By Ph Driver

WESTERN DIVISION police are on the lookout for a dark-skinned Afro-Trinidadian man driving a dark blue Nissan Wingroad and working as a PH driver.

The officers started their search after the man abducted a ten-year-old girl in Diego Martin on Saturday.

According to the St James police, around 5.30 p.m., Lorna Penco, 53 ,and her ten-year-old granddaughter got into a the PH car near Mario’s Pizzeria on Tragarete Road, Port of Spain. They asked to be taken to Diego Martin and the driver obliged.

They were on the only passengers in the car. Penco was in the front passenger seat while the girl was in the back. Police said that on reaching close to their Vespre Lane, Diego Martin home, Penco asked the driver to stop, which he did. Penco got out, but when she attempted to open the back door for her granddaughter it was stuck. The driver leaned out the car and told her that the door gives problems, but then sped off with the girl still in the back seat.

Penco immediately went to make a report to the West End Police Station. While there, she remembered the girl had her purse with her (Penco’s) cell phone in it. Penco called and the girl answered, but said she did not know where she was...
